Simple question.......how many of you are sitting at your desks, driving in your cars, or performing whatever tasks you call work everday and thinking "surely there is more to life than this"? Do you ever get that feeling that maybe you aren't meeting your potential in life? A nagging feeling in the back of your mind that suggests you were meant for something greater. How about that feeling you get when you first discover that there are people in this world who are making millions of dollars for singing about their "humps" or creating a dance/song about the "stanky leg"? I too, suffer from this disorder. An unexplainable notion that life in this day and age should have purpose. Imagine that.....waking up every single day and enjoying something that you truly feel you were put on this Earth to do!
There are many people in this world who are lucky enough to have found their calling. These are the people that I secretly look up to, regardless of whether or not I agree with what they're doing. A friend once told me that it takes two things to make money in this world......money and balls. Money makes money. Simple as that. However, you could have all the money in the world and it wouldn't help one bit if you don't have the balls to dive in and take a chance on your dreams. Sometimes it may fail. That's a fact of life. The good news is that with every failure comes another opportunity.
In today's economy is difficult to imagine being too risky. Those of us that are lucky enough to have a steady job aren't readily willing to risk losing it. I often wonder how many people in this world never realize their dreams because of fear of failure. Personally, I do not want to be in that category. There are things in this life that I know I want to do. In every aspect of life, not just in the business world. Hopefully, when the opportunity comes knocking I will be able to see through the fear and answer the door.
With that said, its now time for my lunch break to be over. Time to go back to the desk that I've grown accustomed to and toil away the rest of the afternoon. Is it possible that I should take my own advice? If you've read this I hope it hasn't been a complete waste of your time. Really, these are just some random thoughts floating around in my head today. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I leave you with two of my favorite quotes of all time. The first is Thoreau: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams!" The second is from Robert Schuller: "What would you do if you knew you could not fail?" That is all.
